Planning a European Trip for Spring Break

So now I really do hope to get to Europe next year in March during Fernando's spring break (March 5-13). I'm looking at some Italian walking tours along the Amalfi coast like this self-guided one from Mac's Adventure except that they say from April to October. So there are also walking tours of Tuscan Hill Towns and Umbria. I'll peruse them and go from there. They don't seem to offer any of France.
Then there is Girasole which specifically offers walking tours in Italy, and you can choose varying levels of accommodations. They have both guided and self-guided (which is what we'd be more interested in) and they begin in March. Maybe the small inns don't open up until then. Or maybe it is just too cold and rainy for walking in March, even in Sicily!
Perhaps I'll investigate this British Hooked on Walking site and see where we could possibly go in March. March might be too early for walking anywhere. Well, there is this one for Madeira available from January 10th...and then there is this one in the Alentejo area of Portugal beginning in February.

Cruise Round Up

There wasn't much at Costa Maya like I thought but we did go to a Mayan ruin two and a half hours away by bus. All in all I did enjoy the cruise: one didn't have to think about where to eat or where to stay and the food was very good, both the OceanView Cafe buffet for breakfast and the Grand Epernay dining room for dinner.
