St. Merri Quartier

The day we arrive is free museum day, and I really want to walk over to the Pompidou and take the escalator up to the 6th floor to see the view over Paris, especially at night (I think we already have a full itinerary so it should be twilight before we get there).  My old Michelin guide has lots of brief walking tours and they mention the Quartier de  Horloge - La Defense du Temps.  It's "an usual brass and steel electronic clock with a Jack known as the Defender of Time.  On striking the hour, the life-sized figure armed with a double edged sword and shield, confronts the animals symbolizing the elements: a dragon (earth), a bird (the air) and a crab ((water).  So I was looking for a picture and found that About.com Paris Travel has a photo gallery Pictures of Beaubourg so we can tour the area before we get there.  The Stravinsky fountains are wonderfully wimsical and..guess what ?? !! there is our favorite BHV!!!
