1) Take the Air France bus (15 euros each) to Gare de Lyon (45 minutes), then Metro line 1 (direction: La Defense) to St. Paul
2) Take RER-B (9 euros each) to the Chatelet Les Halles stop (largest station in the world - long walk), Metro line 1 (direction: Chateau de Vincennes) to St. Paul. We took the RER-B to the airport and it was a piece of cake but we didn't have to transfer to the Metro.
3) a shared airport shuttle (17 euros each) door to door. The advantage here is door to door, pay and reserve in advance (rather than figure out tickets/ticket machines). We used SuperShuttle in 2003 (there was a slight wait while shuttle filled and you never know exactly when you'll arrive, get luggage so it's hard to set a pick-up time), and our experience was positive. Another company is Paris Airport Shuttle . Will your iPhones work in Paris without an awful charge if we need to call when we arrive?
Fernando has a mobile phone that should work in paris. We only have to get a sim card for it.
ReplyDeleteHm. If the shuttle is 17 apiece, would it make sense to just take a taxi? Aeroports de paris says it is 50 euros to the city center, but then to add 15% for Sunday. Is the Les Halles station that big?
ReplyDeleteTaxi? 50 euros or 150 euros - traffic, shifty driver, unknown! Chatelet les Halles - 1/2 mi from RER-B to metro 7 (one past 1), 750,000 people per week. But I'm game!
