The Centre Pompidou website says that the least crowded time to visit is after 5 pm. By then U.S. museums would be closed but the Pompidou is open every day except Tuesdays and May 1st (that notorious day) from 11 am to 9 pm (last entrance at 8 pm). And their library, which is free, is open from noon to 10 pm! Plus they offer free wifi access to all visitors for an hour and a half so that you can "easily find additional information on the artists and works that are on display, using the Centre's own website, pick up your e-mails, update your blog, etc."
